The sculptures of Eddie Symkens originate from his desire to transcend the earth and clay from which his sculptures come. The figures show power through the emotional shapes of their heads and bodies, as if they can hear the outer world and are physically moved by that. Mister Symkens does not want to create anatomically correct sculptures, but tries to show a more emotional and sensational interpretation of humanity.

Corneille

Corneille – Guillaume Cornelis van Beverloo, better known under his pseudonym Corneille, was a Dutch artist. The poetic Corneille was strongly influenced by Miró and Klee. He was one of the founders of the REFLEX movement in 1948 and in 1949 he was also one of the founders of the COBRA movement, which has had great influence on Scandinavian art.
